little dog with pinnafore

This dog is adapted from my little bear pattern, and so the clothes for this will also fit that bear.


Difficulty:

Easy - Medium

You will need:
  • 2.5mm crochet hook
  • 2mm crochet hook
  • dk yarn in brown, blue and a scrap of black
  • 4ply yarn in dark blue and black
  • Toy stuffing
  • A darning needle
  • 2 small poppers

For the dog:
Use a 2.5mm hook and brown dk yarn

For the head and body (starting from the base):
Make a magic loop with 6sc
Round 1: 2sc in each st (12sc)
Round 2: sc in the first st, 2sc in the next st, rep  to end (18sc)
Round 3: sc in the first 2 sts, 2sc in the next st, rep to end. ch1, turn (24sc)
Rounds 4 - 8: (5 rounds) sc in each st (24sc)
Round 9: sc in the first 2 sts, sc2tog, rep to end (18sc)
Round 10: sc in the first st, sc2tog, rep to end (12sc)
Round 11: sc in the first st, sc2tog, rep to end (8sc)
Round 12: 2sc in each st (16sc)
Round 13: sc in each st
Round 14: sc in the first 3 sts, 2sc in the next st, rep to end (20sc)
Round 15: sc in each st
Round 16: sc in the first 4 sts, 2sc in the next st, rep to end (24sc)
Rounds 17 - 18: (2 rounds) sc in each st

For the arms (make 2):
Make a magic loop with 6sc

For the legs (make 2):

Round 5: sc2tog 3 times, sc in the last 9 sts (12sc)

For the ears (make 2):

Make a magic loop with 6sc
Round 1: 2sc in each st
Rounds 2 - 4: (3 rounds) sc in each st
Round 5: sc in the first 2 sts, sc2tog, rep to end (9sc)
Rounds 6 - 8: (3 Rounds) sc in each st
Fasten off

For the muzzle:
Make a magic loop with 6sc
Round 1: 2sc in each st (12sc)
Rounds 2 - 4: (3 rounds) sc in each st
Fasten off

For the tail:
Make a magic loop with 4sc
Rounds 1 - 6: (6 rounds) sc in each st

Fasten off

Sew the arms, legs, ears, tail and muzzle onto the head and body, stuffing the legs, hands, head/ body and muzzle. Use the black dk yarn to embroider eyes and a nose onto your dog.


For the jacket:
Use a 2.5mm hook and blue yarn
fsc26. Ch1, turn.
Rows 1 - 6: (6 rows) sc in each st. ch1, turn (26sc)
Row 7: sc in the first 3 sts, ch6, skip the next 6 sts, hdc in the next 8 sts, ch6, skip the next 6 sts, sc in the last 3 sts.
Fasten off

For the sleeves: (Make 2)

Round 1: sc in the first st of the round, sc in the last 11 sts around (12sc)
Row 2: sc in the first 6 sts. ch1, turn
Row 3: sc in the first 6 sts
Round 4: slip 12 sts around
Fasten off

Sew the sleeves to the armholes on the jacket

For the pinafore:
Using a 2mm hook and dark blue 4ply yarn fsc39
Round 1: sc in the first st of the of the row,  sc in each st to end (39sc)
Rounds 2 - 7: (6 rounds) sc in each st around (39sc)
Round 8: (sc2tog, sc in the next 3 sts) to the last 4 sts, sc2tog, st in the last 2 sts (31sc)
Rounds 9 - 10: (2 rounds) sc in each st (31sc)
Rows 11 - 18: (8 rows) sc in the first 8 sts. Ch1, turn
Fasten off

For the straps:
Rejoin yarn to the 9th st from the end of row 11. sc in this st and  in the next st. ch1, turn (2sc)
(18 rows) sc in each st. ch1, turn (2sc)
Fasten off

Rejoin yarn to the third sts from the base of the first strap. sc in the next st. ch1, turn (2sc)
(18 rows) sc in each st. ch1, turn (2sc)
Fasten off

Sew a snap fastener onto the top corners of the bib and the ends of the straps

For the shoes (make 2):
Using a 2mm hook and black 4ply yarn make a magic loop with 6sc
Round 1: 2sc in each st (12sc)
Round 2: sc in the first st, 2sc in the next st, rep  to end (18sc)
Round 3: sc in the first 2 sts, 2sc in the next st, rep to end. ch1, turn (24sc)
Rounds 4 - 5: (2 rounds) sc in each st
Rounds 6 - 7: (This is 2 rounds but I've included them in one line because of the sc3tog in the middle) sc3tog, sc in the next 20sts, sc3tog, sc in the next 16 sts, ch7, skip 7 sts from base of chain, ss into the next st.
Fasten off

Pyjamas for little bear

These pyjamas are made to fit my little bear, but will also fit any of my other 'little' animals.



Difficulty:

Easy - Medium

You will need:

  • 2mm crochet hook
  • light blue dk yarn
  • 4 small blue buttons
  • A scrap of yarn the same shade as the buttons (optional)
  • Darning needle
  • Sewing needle and thread to sew the buttons on





For the pyjama top:
fsc36
Row 1: sc in the first st, ch1, skip the next st, sc to end. ch1, turn
Row 2: sc in each st. ch1, turn (when you get to the ch st sc into the space instead of the chain)
Row 3: sc in the first st, ch1, skip the next st, sc to end. ch1, turn
Row 4: sc in each st. ch1, turn (when you get to the ch st sc into the space instead of the chain)
Row 5: sc in the first st, ch1, skip the next st, sc to end. ch1, turn

Rejoin the yarn to round 9, just after where you crocheted round 10 before

Thread a length of yarn around the top of the trousers and tie it to tighten them.

Rounds 4 - 13: (10 rows) sc in each st (24sc)
Round 27: sc in the first 2 sts, sc2tog, rep to end (18sc)
Round 28: sc in the first st, sc2tog, rep to end (12sc)
Round 29: sc2tog to end (6sc)
Fasten off

For the dungarees:

With blue make a magic loop with 6sc
Round 1: 2sc in each st (12sc)

Sew the pocket to the front of the dungarees, then sew this to the bottom of the body and sew the arms on. Sew the straps onto the body over the arms and the legs to the bottom of the dungarees. Sew the feet to the bottom of the legs and the hands to the bottom of the arms. Sew the eye to the inside back of the glasses and then sew the strap onto the head, leaving a small gap at the front of the head. Sew the glasses to the head over the gap.

Finally use the black yarn to embroider an eye and a dot for a mouth (or a smile if you'd prefer)

Little bear

This is the first in a series of animals I plan to make. I'll also post a pattern shortly showing you how to make an outfit for this bear. The inspiration for this is taken from amigurumi to go

Mini Elephant

You will need:
  • Grey and black no.10 crochet cotton
  • Darning needle
  • Toy stuffing
  • A 1mm crochet hook


For the head, body and trunk:
With grey make a magic loop with 6sc
Round 1: make 2sc in each st (12sc)
Rounds 2 - 6: (5 rounds) sc in each st (12sc)
Round 7: sc in the first 3 sts, sc3tog 3 times (6sc)
Round 8: make 2sc in each st (12sc)
Rounds 9 - 11: (3 rounds) sc in each st (12sc)
stuff firmly
Round 12: sc3tog 3 times, sc in the next 3 sts (6sc)
Round 13 - 14: (2 rounds) sc in each st (6sc)
Round 15: sc in the first st, sc2tog, rep to end (4sc)
Rounds 16 - 18: (3 rounds) sc in each st (4sc)
Fasten off

Thread the loose yarn from the trunk through the trunk to the head, pulling it tight so that the trunk curls up slightly.

For the ears:
With grey make a magic loop with 4sc. ch1, turn
make 2sc in each st. turn
slip the first 5sts, sc in the next 2 sts, slip the last st.
Fasten off

With grey make a magic loop with 4sc. ch1, turn
make 2sc in each st. turn
slip the first st, sc in the next 2 sts, slip the last 5 sts.

Fasten off

Sew the ears to the side of the head

For the feet (make 4):
With grey make a magic loop with 6sc
Rounds 1 - 3: (3 rounds) sc in each st (6sc)
Fasten off

Stuff and sew the legs onto the body of the elephant

For the tail:
ch5
make 3sc in the 2nd st from hook
ss and fasten off

Sew the tail onto the body

Embroider eyes onto the face using the black yarn.

Pokemon - mini jigglypuff

This is my third pokemon (after Oddish and Umbreon) but it's a lot smaller and quicker than my other designs - it's a similar size to my pokeball pattern

You will need:

  • 1.5mm crochet hook
  • Thread in white, pink, blue and black (I used cotton but it would probably look better with arylic or something with a lesser stitch defenition)
  • Toy stuffing
  • Darning needle



For the body:
With pink make a magic loop with 6sc
Round 1: 2sc in each st (12sc)
Round 2: sc in the first st, 2sc in the next st, rep to end (18sc)
Rounds 3 - 7: (5 rows) sc in each st (18sc)
Round 8: sc in the first st, sc2tog, rep to end (12sc)
Round 9: sc2tog to end (6sc)
Fasten off

For the hair:
With pink make a magic loop with 6sc
Rounds 1 - 4: (4 rounds) sc in each st (6sc)
Round 5: sc in the first 3 sts, 2sc in the next st, rep to end (8sc)
Round 6: sc in each st (8sc)
Fasten off

Sew the hair onto the top of the head in a quiff, curling the shorter end over and tucking it underneath.


For the eyes:
Using white

Sew the smaller blue section onto the white section and embroider a small white spot onto the corner of the blue circle. Sew the eyes to the front of the head.

For the arms:

Sew this black section into the centre of the red section, then use the white thread to embroider a highlight onto the eye. Sew one eye onto each side of the head.


For the ears:
Make a magic loop with 4 sc
Round 1: sc in each st (4sc)
Round 2: 2sc in each st (8sc)
Round 3: sc in each st (8sc)
change to yellow
Round 4: sc in the first st, 2sc in the next st, rep to end (12sc)
Round 5: sc in each st (12sc)
Change to black,

Round 19: sc in the first 4 sts (sc in the first 2 sts 2sc in the next st) 3 times sc in the next 5 sts, slip the last 12 sts
Round 20: sc in the first 4 sts (sc in the first 3 sts 2sc in the next st) 3 times sc in the next 5 sts, slip the last 12 sts

For the front right leg:
With black make a magic loop with 6 sc
Round 1: 2sc in each st (12sc)
Rounds 2 - 4: (3 rows) sc in each st
Rounds 5 - 7: (3 rows) slip the first 6 sts sc in the next 6 sts
Rounds 8 - 16: (9 rows) sc in each st
Round 17 - 20: (4 rows) slip the first st, sc in the next 6 sts, slip the last 5 sts
Fasten off


For the front left leg:
With black make a magic loop with 6 sc
Round 1: 2sc in each st (12sc)
Rounds 2 - 4: (3 rows) sc in each st
Rounds 5 - 7: (3 rows) slip the first 6 sts sc in the next 6 sts
Rounds 8 - 16: (9 rows) sc in each st
Rounds 17 - 20: (4 rows) sc in the first st, slip the next 6 sts, sc in the last 5 sts
Sc in the next st and fasten off

Stuff and sew the legs to the body using mattress stitch

For the rings (Make 5):
With yellow ch10 ss into first ch st and ch1 


Round 1: 2sc into the first 3 sts, sc into the next 2 sts, 2sc into the next 3 sts, sc into the last 2 sts. ss into first st (10sc)
Fasten off

Sew the one of the rings onto the head of the pokemon, and one onto the top of each of the legs

Mini pig

This pattern is reasonably quick to make and requires little materials to make

Difficulty:

Easy - Medium

You will need:
  • 1.5mm crochet hook
  • toy stuffing
  • cotton thread weigh yarn in pink and black
  • sewing thread in white
  • darning needle
  • sewing needle

For the body:
With pink make a magic loop with 6sc
Round 1: 2sc in each st (12sc)
Rounds 2 - 6: (5 rows) sc in each st (12sc)
Round 7: sc2tog to end (6sc)
Round 8: 2sc in each st (12sc)
Rounds 9 - 11: (3 rows) sc in each st
Round 12: sc2tog to end (6sc)
Fasten off

For the legs:
With pink make a magic loop with 6sc
Rounds 1- 2: (2 rows) sc in each st (6sc)
Fasten off

For the ears:
With pink make a magic loop with 6sc
Round 1: sc in each st (6sc)
Fasten off

For the snout:
With pink make a magic loop with 6sc
SS and fasten off

For the tail:
With pink ch11
Row 1: sc2tog into 2nd st from hook, sc2tog 4 more times to end (5sc)
Fasten off

Sew the snout to the cast of edge of the body. Then sew the ears to the top of the head and the legs underneath the body. Next sew the tail onto the end of the body and embroider eyes using black. Finally use white sewing thread to sew white highlights onto the eyes.
