pansexual snake

This very simple snake pattern is made in the colours of the pansexual pride flag, but feel free to swap around the colours however you like. There is a lot of changing colour, and the best way I would recommend to do this is to fasten off neatly (an explanation of what I mean can be found here) and then fasten back on again with the next yarn, so that you get clear distinct bands of colour.

You will need:

• A 2.5mm crochet hook
• dk yarn in black, pink, blue, and yellow
• A small amount of toy stuffing
• A darning needle for sewing up

To make the snake:
With pink make a magic loop with 6sc
Rounds 1 - 2: (2 rounds) sc in each st
Round 3: make 2sc in each of the first 3sts, sc3 (9sc)
change to yellow
Rounds 4 - 6: (3 rounds) sc in each st
change to blue
Round 5: Sc2tog, sc3, sc2tog, sc2 (7sc)
Stuff firmly
Round 6: Sc2tog, sc2, sc2tog, sc (5sc)
Rounds 7: sc in each st
change to pink
Rounds 8 - 9: (2 rounds) sc in each st
Round 10: make 2sc in the first st, sc4 (6sc)
change to yellow
Rounds 11 - 13: (3 rounds) sc in each st
change to blue
Round 14: sc in each st
Round 15: make 2sc in the first st, sc5 (7sc)
Round 16: sc in each st
change to pink
Rounds 17 - 19: (3 rounds) sc in each st
change to yellow
Rounds 20 - 22: (3 rounds) sc in each st
change to blue
Rounds 23 - 25: (3 rounds) sc in each st
change to pink
Round 26: make 2sc in the first st, sc6 (8sc)
Rounds 27 - 28: (2 rounds) sc in each st
change to yellow
Rounds 29 - 54: (26 rounds) sc in each st, changing colour every 3 rounds in the sequence blue, pink, yellow, blue, pink
Round 55: Sc2tog, sc6 (7sc)
change to yellow
Rounds 56 - 58: (3 rounds) sc in each st
change to blue
Round 59: Sc2tog, sc5 (6sc)
Rounds 60 - 61: (2 rounds) sc in each st
change to pink
Rounds 62 - 63: (2 rounds) sc in each st
Round 64: Sc2tog, sc4 (5sc)
change to yellow
Rounds 65 - 67: (3 rounds) sc in each st
Change to blue
Rounds 68 - 69: (2 rounds) sc in each st
Round 70: Sc2tog, sc3 (4sc)
Change to pink
Rounds 71 - 73: (3 rounds) sc in each st
change to yellow
Rounds 74 - 76: (3 rounds) sc in each st
Fasten off
