This pattern is for a very fluffy cockapoo. It includes instructions on making a collar with the initial of the dog on. The pattern is easy to adapt to different colours of cockapoo and those with different markings (eg. the dog I was using as a model had little white patches on his chest and chin, but these can be easily altered)

Sew these to the head

For the eyes and nose:
Use black embroidery thread to add a nose to the end of the snout
Embroider the eyes using black embroidery thread then use white to add highlights, as shown below

You now need to add fur to the dog. Do this by cutting a large number of 5cm long strands of yarn (the easiest way is to cut a strip of cardboard 2.5cm wide and wrap the yarn around before cutting the yarn at one edge) and attach them to the crochet as follows: Fold the yarn in half then insert your hook under a stitch of your crochet. Pull through the folded end of the yarn to create a loop, then thread the 2 free ends through this loop. Pull tight to secure.

This is the point at which you can adapt the yarns used to add specific markings. Once the dog is completed covered use a dog brush to fray the yarn and make it fluffy.

For the collar:
With red 4ply yarn and a 2mm hook ch31
Row 1: sc in the 2nd chain st from hook and each of the next 29sts
Fasten off

0.8mm hook and gold #10 yarn make a magic loop with 6sc
Round 1: make 2sc in each st (12sc)
Fasten off
Embroider an initial onto the front

With silver #10 ch9 tightly
sew the ends together to form a loop and sew to the gold section
With silver ch5 tightly
Thread this through the ring you just made, then sew either side to the collar.
Sew the collar around the neck of the dog.
